Optimizing our IT infrastructure the cloud way

Ever since IT has been key in business change and innovation, one challenge hasn't been resolved: how to cope with (increasingly) flexible business requirements? In fact, once IT is deployed it starts to deviate from the business purpose that it serves and becomes the legacy that prevents innovation. A plausible strategy to resolve this issue has been found by IT architects long time ago: the separation of layers. However, so far it has been a struggle to implement this. And there's the cloud: will this resolve our need for agility and robustness? In this interactive session we will discuss strategies to optimize IT infrastructure along cloud computing concepts, how their pro's and con's depend on the type of supported applications and how the strategies are implemented. The discussion will be based on two practical cases.
