The benefit of Leveraging System z with Cognos 8

The mission of a joint IBM-Numius project was not only to port an existing Business Intelligence environment - from a distributed environment - to an IBM Cognos 8.3 on System z - IBM DB2 9 for z/OS architecture, but also to prove that the end-user functionality is maintained, to perform tests to determine the performance boundaries of a real-life application on a simple System z hosted architecture and to learn what are real-life best practices when executing a "port" of this type.
And yes it was a success!
